Eric spoke with Cleveland Clinic this morning and we are relieved to let everyone know that the scan reports for the lungs showed that the tumors in the lungs have actually reduced in size from the last scan. This is very good news in addition to the update that I gave yesterday. Eric will go back on treatment at the full dose next Wednesday so he gets a few extra days off the drug.
Yesterday on the way to Cleveland, Eric was singing "We're off to see the Wizard, the wonderful wizard of OZ... because, because because of the wonderful things he does". Of course we all know that the wizard does not work at Cleveland Clinic. A little further down the road, Eric was singing "Praise God from whom all blessings flow". That's when I knew he was on track again in the real world :o) For 3 more months we will continue the same process and return for another scan. The doctor reminded us yesterday that there is no cure for the cancer that Eric has but the fact that the drug is working and that he can take the maximum dosage is a good thing. Eric is an inspiration to me because his attitude is always positive even when he feels his worse. He makes every attempt to keep our lives as normal as possible. And for those of you who know him well, the singing on the way to Cleveland is a very normal thing for Eric. There is a song in Eric's heart for everything he faces, every mood he's in and when that comes out, he brings joy to those around him. God is blessing me daily as I travel this journey with him. Every day isn't easy but there is always hope and God's peace to bring it back to a good day. Thanks for your prayers and support. We love you... Eric and Gwen
