Good News in Cleveland - Home Again

We are home again after another long trip to Cleveland and yet we are so grateful that Eric is able to go to Cleveland where we remain confident about the care that he receives there. We went last night because of the early appointments this morning and we were on our way home before noon. I guess that's the benefit of having to be there so early plus Eric and I get an evening away to catch up on what we haven't discussed because of everything else going on. Can you tell we are constantly looking for the good that comes through this storm in our lives? God is good and we are sure of that!! Every day holds unexpected blessings. Every morning is a brand new day and at the end of each day, there are many things to be thankful for.

Eric had the typical lab work and scans done again today. It's been 2-1/2 months since the last time we were there and Eric started the new drug. We rejoice because the scans report that the cancer is stable which means that the drug Afinitor is working. The doctor was positive about the reports today and also reassured us that there is a lot of positive research happening for kidney cancer. So the news today that things are stable is good news because with time, newer and better drugs will be available. Eric really does feel pretty good taking Afinitor and the fact that it is working is awesome news. We will most likely return to Cleveland again in 3 months. So, we will enjoy the rest of this summer thankful that a pill a day is working with minimal side effects.
