Back in Archbold with GOOD NEWS

We are home again and we feel that we got great news today.  The scans show that the Sutent treatments are working and they are working very well.  The mets in the lungs were noticeably reduced.  The other mets were also reduced in size.  Good news for this disease can be "stable" so "reduction" of mets is even better news.  This all means that for now, the disease is controlled so Eric will continue on the Sutent in 2 weeks at the same dosage.  After the past several days, we were concerned about the dosage since the Sutent was the reason for Eric's condition.  However, the doctor assured us that we have learned more about what medications control his blood pressure in the first cycle and that will help maintain it in the next cycle.  Because of the great results from this first round, he doesn't want to reduce the dosage.  The doctor was very positive in his report today, almost to the point of being anxious to share the good news with us.  The plan is not to return to Cleveland for 3 months and then the scan will be repeated.  That means 2 more rounds of Sutent before we return.

We take this good news with thanksgiving for His faithfulness.  We look very forward to the next 2 weeks and plan to find some "family things" to do with some vacation time.  It is great to be home again... words can't even describe the joy we feel today.

Enjoy the next few months with lots of family time. Celebrate. God is so good, all the time. I haven't known you all very long, but certainly long enough to know that you are an amazing family. God bless all of you in his care. Peace and love!! Peg Bjorlin

Glad to hear the GREAT news! Hope that Eric got to enjoy his Father's Day ice cream cake - this is a good time to celebrate with it. God knows the plans for each one of us and I, for one, am glad he only has me live now and not see into the future. It is enough to know that He walks with us through whatever situation He has for us. Blessings to you.
