I thought it was time to blog to give a quick update on what's going on with Eric right now. Many of you at Bard haven't seen Eric much lately and the kids and I have been out and about by ourselves as well. The explanation for that is because Eric is having a lot of pain in his back again. We all tried to blame it on a weekend of too much activity and maybe that had something to do with it at first. However, the pain that typically resulted from "mowing the lawn" lasted a few days. It's been over a week and the pain has not gone away. Eric has had some routine blood tests done and everything "normal" is normal. So we have been in touch with Cleveland again and they want to get this pain under control. Pain is never a good thing for anyone to have so getting it under control is important right now. So, they have increased all of the pain medications which will probably put him to sleep for most of the day. Since he hasn't had a full night of sleep for several weeks, this will be a good thing. At this time, this is the plan. Again, like every other blog I will say the same thing. One day at a time and one decision at a time. Once the pain is under control, Cleveland will decide on the next step. It may be a scan earlier than planned but we don't know anything for sure.
Please pray for Eric as he deals with this detour on his journey. It's something new again and another experience that we need to adjust to. We appreciate your thoughts and prayers as they give us the strength when it seems like there isn't enough for the day. We praise God that we can feel the blessing of so many friends who continue to tell us that they pray for us every day. We received a special gift that says it all. It's displayed in our family room and we read it often. "Praise God from Whom all blessings flow". At the end of the day, the blessings continue to be greater the concerns of the day.
We'll keep in touch when we know more. Until then... Eric, Gwen, Emily and Adam

When I read your blog, I thought of the song "Yet, I will Praise you Lord". Powerful words and it sounds like what you two are doing as you go through this storm
Prayers continue for you.
