Cleveland Update

We made it to Cleveland and back home another time and have little to report. The appointment was focused on Eric's current condition and the quality of life each day. Because of the fact that Eric is extremely fatigued from morning to night, the doctor has decided to hold drug for 2 weeks. In two weeks, we will call Cleveland and give an update on how Eric feels after the break. At that time, his condition will be discussed and reevaluated. The break may be extended or he may start on a lower dosage. We just really don't have any indication of what might be decided. The doctor didn't really give details of the scan. He said that it didn't appear that the disease had grown out of control Because the swelling has gone down, he assumes that the drug has had a positive impact.

Eric and I had several hours to reflect on everything as we made our trip there and back on the turnpike. When his condition steals normal from each day, it makes sense to do something different. When we got home, I decided to mow the lawn in-between rain showers. Eric thought he better help me gas up the mower and check the oil :) I asked him if he thought he should start it and he did. Then he looked at me with determination in his eyes and said that he'd just make the first pass. He took off down the driveway and took the first, second, third pass and eventually finished the front lawn. He said he felt alive. I cried some tears as I watched him do what he enjoys so much. I finished the lawn but Eric came out again and spent more time outside shooting his gun, and swinging a golf club with Adam. These are the kinds of experiences that Eric needs to have now. He needs to enjoy his time and do whatever he can do while fighting this disease.

Please pray for strength... for good days... for a good two weeks... and for God's blessings to continue in special ways. Until next time... Eric and Gwen
