We returned home late yesterday and it feels good to be here again. Eric is doing very well but it requires pain medication every 2 hours to deal with the pain. It is amazing how much progress he makes every day. We will be returning to Cleveland at the end of this week to talk with the doctors about the next steps. We remember that it is one day at a time and for now we are so happy to be home again.
The kids are back in school today and I hope that they can get back into the routine. I can't believe that not even 3 weeks ago we got the intial diagnosis that he had an abdominal mass. The surgery is already behind us and he is already feeling so much better.
Eric is being a good patient and knows that his nurse is the boss. He tries to take charge on occassion but quickly remembers how much he really needs me. Right now he needs to get well so that he is ready for the next steps of his journey.
His doctors are so awesome and we feel so blessed to be under their care. When the surgeon prays with his patient in the OR, it puts it all in perspective. The GREAT PHYSICIAN guides his hands and and gives him wisdom to care for Eric and that is a true blessing to us.
Not sure if I'll update the blog daily at this point in time. Until we go back to Cleveland, we won't know anything different. Thank you so much for all of your prayers and support.

Eric and Gwen - so glad to hear you are home. I cry each time I read about the doctors that have been appointed to give your care. The Great Physician truly has every detail taken care of! I hope you enjoy the comforts of home for a few days. May God bless the children and help them with the demands of their schedules. Michelle Stark and Family

Eric- I guess some people will do anything to get a little attention--I thought my heart attack was pretty good, but you've really one-upped me! Seriously though, it's good to hear you're home and on the mend. Tina and I have been praying for you and the whole family. Keep getting better and remember to just put one foot in front of the other!
